Heroes of the Hemisphere was a huge success.
More than 400 people registered to celebrate
the achievements of five outstanding
individuals from five countries who are making
a mark on humanity.
Celebrating
the Heroes
PADF's Heroes of the
Hemisphere drew a large number of distinguished
guests, including OAS Assistant Secretary
General Albert Ramdin, author Carlos Alberto
Montaner, members of the diplomatic community,
executives and other invitees. Rainn Wilson,
who stars as Dwight on NBC's hit comedy
series The
Office, and Jimmy Jean-Louis, who plays The Haitian
on NBC's Heroes, presented two of the

Jimmy Jean-Louis, the actor who plays The Haitian on NBC's Heroes, and Nicole Muller Cesar, the 2009 honoree from Haiti, celebrate on stage in front of nearly 400 invited guests.
Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight on NBC's The Office, along with his wife (right) Holiday, with four of the five Heroes of the Hemisphere honorees in Miami, October 24. Rainn presented the 2009 award to Andrea Gonzalez of Colombia.
Satcha Pretto Padilla, weekend anchor on Univision's Primer Impacto Fin de Semana and emcee of the Heroes of the Hemisphere, introduces the next guest presenter.
Teresa Rodriguez, anchor of Univision's Aqui & Ahora, listens to Gorki Aguila, a Cuban musician who accepted the 2009 award on behalf of Yoani Sanchez. Unfortunately, Sanchez, the creator and writer of the blog Generacion Y, could not attend the event.
Albert Ramdin, Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), speaks about the PADF's role in hemispheric development during the luncheon. Ambassador Ramdin is also the Vice Chair of PADF's Board of Trustees.
Contemporary artist Romero Britto created a one-of-a-kind painting of the Heroes of the Hemisphere logo, which includes the thumbprints and signatures of a number of VIPs who attended the event.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL) hosted
this fabulous event on behalf of PADF to honor
this year's group of Heroes of the Hemisphere.
RCCL's luxurious Liberty of the Seas, which was
docked at the Port of Miami, was the venue for
this exclusive celebration. Entertainment on
the ship will included a welcome reception, an
exciting ice show, a silent and live auction
and a three-course luncheon.
Because RCCL is hosting the 2009 Heroes of the
Hemisphere, the donations from this
great event will be used for proven,
sustainable programs and their beneficiaries.
The funds from the 2009 Heroes of the
Hemisphere will be used to support
Haiti, our neighbor that needs help from all of
us.
