Tickets: When will I receive my tickets?

    • Each attendee will receive an electronic confirmation for the event. Physical tickets will not be provided.
    • When you arrive to the Port of Miami on October 24, your name and personal identification number will be on a master list.
    • Please bring your photo identification to the event. All guests must have a photo ID in order to board the ship.

 

Personal identification: Why do I need to provide a driver’s license number or a passport number when I purchase my tickets?

    • Although the ship will be docked during the event, all attendees will be in a secure area.
    • The federal government requires everyone in this area to provide this personal information.
    • Your personal information will be gathered when you purchase your ticket.
    • Please bring your photo ID to the event.

 

Date & time: What is the date of the event?

    • Saturday, October 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

Location: Where will it be held?

    • RCCL's Liberty of the Seas, which will be docked at the Port of Miami.
    • The ship will be in port during the entire event.

 

Parking: Can I park at the Port of Miami?

    • Yes, there is public parking at the terminal.
    • After you purchase your tickets, additional information will be sent to you.

 

Proceeds: How will my donation be used?

    • Since Royal Caribbean Cruise Ltd. (RCCL) is hosting the event, proceeds from this year’s luncheon will fund projects and beneficiaries.
    • This year, PADF has selected Haiti as the recipient country.

 

Countries of Interest: Will we only talk about Haiti at the event?

    • PADF will talk about a number of countries, including Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
    • PADF worked in 18 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean last year.

 

Cancelation: Am I able to cancel my ticket?

    • The price of the ticket is considered to be a donation. Therefore, we cannot cancel it.
    • However, if you cannot attend the event, you may contact us to change the name of the person who will attend in your place. That change must take place prior to Friday, October 16. You may email Sarah Moseley: smoseley@padf.org

 

Deadline: Until when can I purchase tickets?

    • PADF has only 350 seats available at the Heroes of the Hemisphere event and they will go fast.
    • Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will be on sale while supplies last.
    • We must provide a list of all attendees to RCCL by Friday, October 16, and cannot make any changes or sell any tickets after that.

 

Taxes: Is the cost of the ticket tax deductible?

    • $275 of the price is deductible on your federal income taxes. The IRS requires PADF to subtract the fair-market value of the food and entertainment, which is donated by RCCL. Please consult your tax professional for more information.
    • You will receive a letter detailing your donation to the Heroes of the Hemisphere, which can be used for tax purposes.

 

Additional Donations: Can I donate to other projects in Latin America and the Caribbean?

    • Yes.

Sponsorship: Can I buy a table at the Heroes of the Hemisphere?

    • Since RCCL is the host, PADF is not selling tables or traditional sponsorships.
    • Instead, PADF is inviting individuals and companies to make donations directly to projects and their beneficiaries.

Attire: What is the proper dress for the event?

    • Casual and comfortable. All activities on the cruise ship will be held indoors.

 

Keynote Speaker: Who is the Keynote Speaker?

    • PADF has invited former President Bill Clinton to be the Keynote Speaker at the event.
    • Please check the website for updates to the program.

 

PADF: What is the Pan American Development Foundation?

    • PADF is a non-profit, independent organization that works on economic and social development with the most vulnerable people in Latin America and the Caribbean. It also carries out natural disaster relief in the region.
    • It was formed in 1962 to create public-private partnerships.
